The Heavens are Singing

"Mommy! Look at all those clouds! What are all those clouds doing?" I smiled and my mind starting spinning with excitement. I was in the car, traveling to a friend's house with the kids in the back seat. My 4 year old was pointing his finger at the sky and laughing in delight. Think, think. I had to take advantage of a moment like this! He had no idea what a perfect question he had just asked.
The Heavens are singing about how great God is; and the skies are shouting it out, "See what God has made!" Day after day...night after night... They are speaking to us. (Psalm 19:1-2 Paraphrased in the Jesus Storybook Bible)
"Those clouds are saying 'Look how awesome God is!" I said, "Look how big He is!" I love how Sally Lloyd-Jones puts it in the opening words of the Jesus Storybook Bible,
God wrote, "I love you" - he wrote it in the sky, and on the earth, and under the sea. He wrote his message everywhere! Because God created everything in his world to reflect him like a mirror - to show us what he is like, to help us know him, to make our hearts sing.
Are you ready when conversations like this happen? We have so many opportunities throughout the day, to point our kids to Christ. The opportunities aren't always obvious, but they're in the little moments of life, and the big. The quiet talks, goodnight hugs, star gazing, birthday parties, tearful goodbyes, play dates and shopping trips. Look for them. The skies are shouting a message, gather your children together and listen!

Great resources for children from Sally Lloyd Jones:
